April was an eventful month to say the least, and just like the weather, Q2 is just heating up! We officially welcomed a new agent, closed on a 15,000-square-foot lease, and celebrated some much-anticipated restaurant openings that diners are sure to enjoy for years to come. Ahead of us is our favorite annual event, ICSC in Las Vegas, where we look forward to meeting with industry leaders and dealmaking on behalf of our fantastic clients. As always – happy reading!

We’d like to announce the addition of our newest associate, Ethan Steiner. Starting as an intern, he was quick to prove he has the enthusiasm, tenacity, and dependability to succeed. Now he is involved with the sales and leasing of retail properties representing both Landlords and Tenants. Between Ethan’s college degree in Real Estate and previous experience in sales, brokerage was a natural transition for him. He attributes his hard work and drive to the dedication he acquired as a D1 Cross Country Athlete at the University of San Diego where he set school records. Wedgewood Weddings | The Headquarters

We are thrilled to announce that the nation’s largest wedding venue provider, Wedgewood Weddings, will be bringing an event venue to The Headquarters! Built in 1939 to serve as the San Diego Police HQ, The Headquarters has since been rebranded as a vibrant shopping, dining, and entertainment destination anchored by Cheesecake Factory, Eddie V’s and Puesto. Wedgewood has joined the center in a 15,442 square feet space in what was previously utilized as the police gymnasium. With bow truss ceilings and a mezzanine, the adaptive reuse into a wedding venue was the perfect match. Marc Karren represented Wedgewood in leasing this historical location.

Havana Grill | Mission Valley

The expansion of Havana Grill into Westfield Mission Valley Mall was well worth the wait. They delivered on an incredible 3,334 sf build donned with intricate tilework, vaulted ceilings, foliage, streetlights, and lively music to bring the vibrant Cuban culture indoors. Their second restaurant will be offering the same delicious Cuban cuisine as their flagship location plus an expanded menu to compliment the full bar and morning hours. While you may leave half of your heart in Havana, you will leave with a full stomach from Havana Grill. Alexis Couch represented Havana Grill in their first expansion.

The Remy | Mission Valley

The Remy has made its debut with boots and spurs! Described as California Cowboy meets Polo, The Remy delivers 4,824 SF of rustic fine dining adjacent to the highly anticipated Mission Valley Riverwalk development. With bold signage highlighting Cocktails & Meats, the restaurant delivers high-quality steaks, including American Wagyu from Whitefish, Montana, and craft libations. Currently in their soft opening, the grand opening is scheduled for May 22nd followed by the opening of their exclusive members-only club complete with its own entrance, bar, patio, and dining area. David Cutler represented both the Buyer and Seller in this transaction.
